Registered Nurse (RN) Needed at Northern Health Region

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. You will also be responsible for educating them and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will also be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patient’s well-being by providing high-quality nursing care. Anyone who has a work permit and can legally work in Canada can apply for this job. A registered nurse, or RN, typically monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients, and more. They typically do not need to meet the master’s degree requirement of a nurse practitioner.

Salary/Remuneration: $37.37 to $44.05 hourly for 27.13 hours per week

Employment Type: Part-time leading to full time ( Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift)

Languages: English Language

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.)

  • Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • Intravenous (IV) therapy Certification

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years

Specific Skills

  • Deliver health education programs
  • Assist in surgery and other medical procedures
  • Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions
  • Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care
  • Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
  • Monitor, assess, address, document, and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions
  • Provide supportive counseling and life skills programming
  • Conduct disease screening
  • Deliver immunization programs
  • Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff
  • Provide nursing care
  • Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment
  • Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
  • Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
